... upon realizing that you have said tire, instead of thinking "OH NO, MY BIKE IS BROKEDED!!" you think "Well, there goes the bike catastrophe of the week," followed immediately by "At least it's only a flat tire. And hey, it's Asagaya side, which means it's an easy fix. AWESOME!"
Just so you all know, up until now, every time I've rolled over a particularly evenly set of bumps in the road, I've had a mini-panic attack, thinking that I had another flat tire. As of today, I can officially say that I'm not paranoid--they really ARE all out to get me. The bicycle gods, I mean.
I'm gonna try to update about the general AWESOMENESS of the ICU festival this past weekend, but I have 2 overdue papers and a 20 minute presentation to write by Thursday, so I'm going to put priority on those and update Thursday night/Friday afternoon. In the meantime, though, have a video of this year's Soul Run performance:
Youtube 'ICU Soul Run 2009' for a million and one additional angles. Points and two dozen virtual cookies/Japanese sweets of your choice to the first person who figures out where I am. :P
Oh, and for those of you that care, the young woman in the green shirt that keeps popping up to take pictures? That's Asako-san, one of the other boarders at the house I'm staying at. The older woman in black next to her? That's my host mom. :D
Enjoy! Take care, all!!

I think you're in white on the stage near the back. Am I correct???
ReplyDeleteWow... impressive!! I'm actually right smack dab in the middle of the white-happi folks on the stage. Nicely done...
ReplyDeleteWhat is your to-be-brought-back-home Japanese sweet of choice? ^_^
